Panel Talk Discussing the Day in The Life of a Child Through Food

We will examine a day in the life of a child experiencing food insecurity and then discuss the great work being done to turn things around.

Magic Breakfast’s Hidden Hunger report is the most comprehensive map of UK breakfast provision conducted to date, with data from over 5,500 schools across all four nations. The report reveals that 69% of UK schools have either no provision or have barriers to access. Current models operating in schools are reaching just one in four disadvantaged young people in England.

This is a situation that doesn’t necessarily improve as the day goes on, with canteen dinners often being hit or miss and the bombardment of advertising for unhealthy foods children can be subjected to on the way home.

Our panel will examine a day in the life of a child experiencing food insecurity and then discuss the great work being done to turn things around.
