Create Academy are on a mission to inspire the nation to discover their creative side with beautifully curated video courses, giving unprecedented access to the UK’s best designers, makers, gardeners and chefs.
To celebrate Craft Week 2024, Fortnum’s are partnering with Create Academy to offer 5 incredible makers the opportunity to demonstrate their talents in a series of hands-on workshops all themed around the dining table.
In this workshop, you will learn about the history of natural dyeing with dyeing expert Sian Cornish, who take you on a journey of creative and colour discovery, using Fortnum’s tea to create your own tea-dyed silk ribbons (that could be tied around a dinner napkin for example).
Sian Cornish is a visual artist and creative director of botanical dyeing studio Lancaster & Cornish. Sian experiments with colour, plants and pigments to create work that is inspired by the beautiful land and seascapes of Cornwall, echoing the palette of the changing seasons and weather.
All the materials you will need for the workshop are included in the ticket price and there will be a cheeseboard to graze on while you work!
