For this event, we have invited makeup artist and programmer, Timothy Aarons, to curate a programme featuring a screening of the documentary “The Beauty of Blackness,” directed by Kiana Moore and Tiffany Johnson. The film explores the history of Black cosmetics by following the relaunch of one of the largest, most important Black-owned beauty brands of the 20th century — Fashion Fair.
Together, Janice Deul and Timothy Aarons, will delve into themes highlighting the powerful connection between beauty, society, and politics. Based on Aaron’s experience, we’ll reflect on critical issues within the beauty industry, which often facilitate less representation of BIPOC voices.
Join us on April 20th for an evening where we explore the significant impact of representation in the beauty industry as a catalyst for cultural sustainability.
€2.50 ticket includes access to the museum.
If you cannot afford this ticket price, please email us at events@fashionforgood.com and you can attend for free.
