Ringtales Opening Reception at NYC Jewelry Week 2024

This exhibition is inspired by the magical memories of our inner child.

Since 2018, Carolina Iwanow has curated and led an annual collective jewelry exhibition at NYC Jewelry Lab Studio, featuring work from her current and former students, as well as her own creations. The 2024 in-person and virtual exhibition is inspired by childhood memories, specifically the moments when someone read us a story. An homage to our purest imagination, the excitement of the unknown, the surprise listening to the voice drawing images in our brains, feeling the spell of the almost tactile imaginary world, the learning moral, the inspiring & positive effects that the tale would leave on us maybe for ever. Each jeweler will tell a tale/tales of their own childhood through 3 to 6 rings made from precious metals, gemstones, enamels, and other materials. Each artist comes from a diverse background and ethnicity, making this exhibition a showcase of stories from various cultures. My goal with this exhibition is to rebirth everyone’s inner child and use the rings as a stage.
