Musings on Maximalist Adornment at NYC Jewelry Week 2024

Excess! Opulence! Color! Dive deep into the world of maximalism jewelry with a panel incorporating fashion history, emerging brands & more.

From Victorian excess to modern day expressive opulence, dive deep into the colorful world of maximalism jewelry and adornment with a panel conversation. Moderated by Kristen Bateman, author and the founder of the jewelry brand Dollchunk, the panel will bring together Susan Korn of Susan Alexandra (iconic beaded accessories brand) and Carrie Imberman of Kentshire (Bergdorf Goodman’s antique and estate jewelry department) to chat about maximalist jewelry throughout history and contemporary times. Maximalism celebrates all things over-the-top, larger-than-life and statement-making, and this conversation will cover maximalist jewelry moments new and old.

Kristen Bateman is the founder of the maximalist jewelry brand Dollchunk, an author and creative consultant. She is the author of five fashion books, a regular contributor to publications including Vogue, Elle, W and more, and a maximalist jewelry enthusiast and passionate collector of vintage and antique jewelry.
