In this one-hour workshop with By Shax, you will learn how to create a decorative, multi-purpose tealight holder (that can also function as a succulent mini-pot!) for your home or as a wonderful gift for someone else. You will learn to experiment with casting using pigmentation, marbling, and finishing techniques, and you’ll also learn about the versatility of Jesmonite AC100, a water-based eco-resin widely used to make decorative moulded objects. It is safe to use and contains no harmful chemicals.

In the first half, you will focus on how to pigment Jesmonite with different mixes of colours, and you will explore marbling and free-pouring techniques. In the second half, you’ll cast your tealight holder by pouring the material into silicone moulds. The tealight holder will then be sanded, sealed, and finished by me in my studio and posted to you within three working days. All materials will be provided, including protective gloves.
