Dr. Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed is a specialist registrar in hepatology and gastroenterology. In 2017, she made history as the first doctor to win MasterChef, triumphing over 63 other determined amateur cooks through seven intense weeks of culinary challenges and an exhilarating final cook-off.

She has since authored several books, the latest of which – The Prescription Kitchen, published in Spring 2023 – focuses on recipes that support good gut health.

Saliha joins us for a dinner that emphasises fermentation, particularly exploring the role of fungi in this process and other areas of medicine.

Expect a delicious meal featuring 30 different plants, as recommended by the NHS for a balanced diet over a week.
