Children aged 8-12 are invited to join in the Food & Drink Studio for a very special masterclass with chef Allegra McEvedy and illustrator Alice Bowsher, the team behind the cookbook Chefs Wanted!

Budding chefs will get the opportunity to cook a dish from the book, then have a go at illustrating the recipe, before sitting down to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Allegra McEvedy MBE is a chef, writer, broadcaster, consultant and cookery teacher. In her early career she worked at some of London’s best restaurants, as well as cheffing in New York and San Francisco. In 2008 she co-founded award-winning healthy fast-food chain LEON. Allegra was the judge on Junior Bake Off and co-presented Step Up To The Plate, also on CBBC. She is patron of the Fairtrade Foundation and in 2010 she got a medal from (the future) King Charles for her work around healthier eating and sustainable sourcing. Chefs Wanted! is her ninth book. It contains 45 tasty recipes for budding chefs who want to take their skills to the next level including family favourites like cannelloni and chilli, street food like spring rolls, sweet treats like profiteroles, and much more.

Alice Bowsher is a London-based illustrator who works primarily with chunky black ink to create joyful characters, large scale murals and illustrated sets. She produces simple, playful and intriguing illustrations, full of quick spontaneous marks, such as those featured in Chefs Wanted!

Price is per child. Adults are invited to sit behind and do not require a ticket.
