What you will need to join :
* you need to have previous sewing experience to get most out of this workshop *
all specialist materials,tools and sewing machines will be provided in the classroom
light refreshments will be available throughout the day in the classroom
Outline of this Masterclass:
1st day SAT 24.8.2024
-Introduction :
-a quick intro into the history of 18th century stays
– overview of materials that will work best for professional corsetry results
– a corset pattern for each student will be provided
-cutting the fabrics / patter pieces
-start sewing your corset/stays
2nd day CLASSROOM
– continue sewing your corset
-learn how insert corset boning : learn about different types of corset boning & what type will work best for Fashion or Stage
-how to create tabs
-how to edge your stays
Students will be asked to continue working on the garment or design ideas during the week in their own time : receiving daily live call with tutor option – if needed.
3rd day CLASSROOM
-how to add eyelets or hook & eyes to your corset/bodice
-how to lace your corset
-adding decorations to your corset
-finish your stays
Students will receive hand outs throughout this workshop and keep the pattern to create more corsets in their own time.
