You Can Knit With Us (YKWU) Unravelled – Natural Dyes

Join us on Saturday 31st May at The Lab E20 for the first YKWU Unravelled event, unpacking Natural Dyes.

YKWU Unravelled is the latest development of Colèchi’s regular knit club ‘You Can Knit With Us’. YKWU Unravelled explores fibres and materials, deepening our understanding of ethical and sustainable sourcing by looking at topics such as natural dye, wool, and biomaterials.

Unravelled is a day-long event featuring YKWU (You Can Knit with Us)corners where you can learn to knit or create in community, a panel discussion dissecting the theme and a live workshop or demonstration.

About Colèchi

Colèchi, founded by sisters Piarvé and Tina Wetshi, is a research and educational platform that centers humanity, community, and collaboration within the fashion industry. Colèchi’s Clean Fashion manifesto guides their work towards building a transparent and collaborative industry by recongising the four key areas of the supply chain: sourcing, making, media, and afterlife. Through this framework, Colèchi promotes sustainable fashion systems rooted in people, culture, and sustainability.

You Can Knit With Us (YKWU)

YKWU is a Colèchi initiative that explores the social, cultural, and emotional aspects of making and crafting together. Launched in 2022 as inclusive, intergenerational knitting workshops, YKWU aims to challenge traditional fashion experiences. YKWU has evolved into a community of Colèchi knitwear designers researching natural fibres and new materials to develop collaborative and circular systems.
