Baroness Doreen Lawrence was awarded the OBE for services to community relations in 2003 and was subsequently made a life peer in the House of Lords in 2013. She has won praise for her tireless dedication to community, anti-racism and other causes close to her heart and in 2014, she was named the most powerful woman in the country by the BBC.

Baroness Lawrence continues to advocate and provide a voice for the voiceless with her continued commitment to inequalities in societies globally, and she supports many good causes and initiatives that provide opportunities to young people, that were tragically denied to her son Stephen by his senseless murder in 1993.

Her efforts in seeking justice for Stephen’s murder have seen her ongoing commitment lead to an investigation into claims of police corruption and, for her, the changes in policing remain ‘only partly done’ in her wish to see Britain become a fair, just and tolerant society for all.

In 2020, Baroness Lawrence establish the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation where she is continuing to provide a legacy of hope for young people, especially those from marginalised backgrounds, through my work at The Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation.

The Foundation exists to inspire a more equitable, inclusive society and to foster opportunities for marginalised young people in the UK.

We are incredibly excited that the gorgeous @cuppymusic will join us at our upcoming brunch on the 30th of March 2024!!

Cuppy is a global star with over 15 million followers on social media combined. She has been privileged to DJ for an elite set of crowds and work with major brands like Pepsi, Amazon Music, and more. Cuppy has also been featured on Glamour UK, Harper’s Bazaar, and Forbes.

Outside of music, her philanthropic work through @cuppyfoundation has created numerous opportunities for children in Africa and UK to continue their education through direct funding.

Most recently, the Cuppy Foundation launched a fund with Oxford University for African students, and she spoke at the United Nations General Assembly on International Day of Peace on the importance of Education.

Cuppy tells us that she is excited about being part of the Tessy’s Brunches community and cannot wait to meet you all. We can’t wait too!

If you would like to meet Cuppy and all the other fabulous women, grab your ticket before they are gone!

Alex founded Ithaca Partners in 2008. In the 15 years since then the business has developed into the leading UK Corporate Affairs executive search boutique, working for a wide range of clients from HSBC and British Airways on the corporate side, to the Premier League and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the non-corporate market.

Alex is passionate about leadership development, particularly championing the rise of women in the Corporate Affairs profession. Last year Ithaca’s proportion of women on shortlists was 65% and for placed candidates the figure was 63%. This year the placed candidate figure will be 70%. This work has been a 10 year journey for Ithaca Partners. The business is currently 2 years into a similar journey with talent of colour in Corporate Affairs.

Alex is also a Meyler Campbell qualified coach.

We are incredibly excited to announce that THE Gillian Joseph will join us on the 30th of March.

Gillian has more than 30 years of broadcast experience. She currently presents Sky News at Ten on Sky News and can be regularly seen across the rest of the output as well as reporting on the road. She has reported from locations across the globe including the Caribbean, South America and Africa.

Did you know that in 2017, Gillian was the sole presenter on a Sky News specially commissioned pop up channel? Sky Ocean Rescue broadcasted investigative reports and documentaries as well as live coverage of the EU ‘Our Ocean Conference’ from Malta which included the then Prince Charles.

Did you also know that following the killing of George Floyd, Gillian presented a highly praised Sky News special interactive programme called ‘Race and Revolution – Is change going to come?’ in which racial disparities were analysed in a fresh light.

Gillian has reported on the last two US elections from Washington DC and New York. She has also covered the Ukraine war from Kiev.

We have admired Gillian for so many years and cannot wait to give her a special Tessy’s Brunches warm welcome!
