Creators Series Special Edition: A 30th Anniversary Celebration for Aroma M

Please join us for a special evening as we celebrate 30 years of Aroma M and honor the creative journey of its founder, Maria McElroy.

Maria launched Aroma M in the 1990s with her debut fragrance, O-cha, at Bergdorf Goodman. At a time when the perfume world was still largely closed to independent voices, she became one of the first American indie perfumers to gain international recognition. Her work was later carried by Harrods and Sephora, who commissioned three fragrances for stores across the U.S. and Asia.

Before creating Aroma M, Maria spent seven years in Japan studying traditional arts such as Kodo, Ikebana, and Zen Buddhism, and later trained in aromatherapy in Australia. Her fragrances reflect a deep respect for ritual, place, and storytelling—drawing from her roots in Salt Lake City, her Greek heritage, and more recently, her time in North Africa.
