For our next instalment of our Kitchen Stories series, we’re very excited to welcome food writer and chef Keshia Sakarah.
Keshia is the chef founder of Caribe’ – Caribbean Eating, previously based in Brixton, and was named one of CODE’s 100 influential women in food in 2021 and 2022. She has contributed to publications like Waitrose Weekend, Guardian Feast and Good Food, as well as appearing on BBC Radio Four’s Woman’s Hour and Masterchef: The Professionals.
Now, she’ll be paying us a visit here at Fortnum’s on our 3rd Floor at Piccadilly, where she’ll be sharing more about her brand-new book Caribe. Featuring over 120 recipes from across 23 nations, Keshia Sakarah takes readers on an expansive journey through the social and culinary history of the Caribbean, offering recipes from the preserved knowledge of pre-Colonial indigenous communities to the ingredients and foodways retained from West Africa by the enslaved, to the influence of migrant communities including Chinese, East Indian and Portuguese.
So join us in our Book Shop, and discover the flavours and histories of the Caribbean.
